Akeredolu okays incentives for health workers
Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has approved additional incentives for health workers at the treatment and isolation centres.
Chairman Ondo State Inter-Ministerial Committee on Covid-19 and Commissioner for Health Dr. Wahab Adegbenro, who broke the news, said that insurance scheme for the health officials was being worked out.
Speaking after a meeting with the governor, Dr. Adegbenro said the capacity of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH), Ondo laboratory would be strengthened to carry out tests for Covid-19.

He said testing for Covid-19 at the facility will begin soon.
Adegbenro said: “These are being put in place to encourage the health workers to discharge their duties.
“These are measures to encourage our health workers at our treatment and isolation centres to put in their best.
It will eventually go round all health workers.
“So many things are being upgraded to ensure our continued ability to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.”
