Two Nigerian Youths team up to invent a solar inverter and a power bank. They are said to be members of a body called the Young Friends of the Earth Nigeria.
The Young Friends of the Earth Nigeria is a body of young people who seek to identify the societal challenges and find lasting solutions to them. The group has several youths across the country as members.
The 21-year old duo named the inventions DanJaph, which was coined from their names- Daniel and Japheth. They revealed that their feat was triggered by their passion for electronics. Which brought about the team work
Daniel is physically-challenged, and a former student of Akenzua Secondary School, Benin while Japheth just completed his secondary education from Ihogbe College, Edo State.
The young inventors revealed that thorough online search was the main source of their victory, as they were able to gather knowledge via the medium.
On the other hand, the duo also revealed a major stumbling block to the advancement of their work, which is scarce financial resources. The major parts needed for production are sourced abroad, and have sought for the support of the Government and the general public in bringing the aims and objectives of the body to reality.
